I’ve paired these 1920s amber beads with the fabulously modern Heel or No Heel red shoes and a classic LBD: the All That and Noir Dress. Give this mixture a very good shaking before every use so that the ingredients are mixed and well distributed. Run a small basin full of lukewarm water and use a soft cloth to gently spot treat any areas that need it. It has been a wonderful nine years and I am so excited about what the future will bring.
How and when did you start sewing?Surprisingly enough, I can’t remember where the idea came from, but when I first moved to London, I bought myself a pretty cheap sewing machine (which I still love and use six years on). When I realized that I can’t even figure out how to thread it on my own, I signed up for a two hour long course and learned how to make a cushion cover. My next project was a self-drafted, fully lined, backless dress that I made in about six hours, right before a birthday party. Looking at that dress now (especially how horrendous it looks on the inside!) makes me think about how much I’ve learned so far.
I really don’t remember sewing anything but buttons in my childhood. I was more for crochet and cros-stitch and some knitting, I learned that from my crafty aunts and grandmother.I’ve always had trouble finding clothes that I really like 100% or that fit me right, especially pants, always too big on the waist, but most of all, I find it really disturbing to wear something that thousands of people also have, so I was always having a tailor modify my clothes.
