Update – by request, here are 2 photos of the kimono!With the recent cold snap, (it might even snow tonight) I am hoping to avoid the mistake I make every year. I always plan out costumes forgetting that it will be bloody freezing in NYC by the time I get around to wearing them. That’s why I have decided that for my Yellow Brick Road costume I am going to lengthen the Lydia to make a shirt dress. However, all my sewing helper buddies are out of the office, so I’m really on my own for this transformation.

Hey I just looked it up and apparently the Golden Nymph statuettes are copies of the “Salmacis” Nymph by the Monegasque sculptor Francios-Joeph Bosio (1768-1845) the original of which is on show at the Louvre Museum in Paris No wonder I thought it looked like a beautiful piece of art Okay well I suppose I better trundle off to bed It’s it’s 4:20 AM and I’ve got a matinee today Hopefully sleep will decide to grace me with a visit Sweet dreams everybody xo Posted by Meg Tilly on Saturday

I know that I am really excited about this dress and I would like to that you all for suggesting the various user creations.
Quite a big role! I have always thought of my sewing as just a hobby, however since discovering BurdaStyle and all the great creations on the site and on members blogs I would really like to take it further and combine it with my graphic design work. Before I got back into sewing I would only knit things every now and again but now i’m sewing everyday and trying things I really thought I would never be able to make, like jackets and trousers.
