We are very excited for next month! We are planning on doing pillows, and we’ve started doing One Million Pillowcases for charity, so we may get some of those made too — and I think we’ll have a few new members! Once I knew what size I was going to sew it was time to add the seam allowance. I like adding my own seam allowance to patterns since I like sewing with a 1/2" seam allowance. So I added 1/2" to all edges except the center front seam. The center back seam and yoke center back seam don’t need seam allowance either since they are to be cut on fold.

I love aprons! As a fashion sewing entrepreneur (IndygoJunction.com), aprons have always been a big part of the patterns we offer. As well, as the author of Vintage Notions, aprons appear prominently throughout my book. One of my absolute favorite publications in my collection I discovered during my book research. It’s called “Apron Lore, Practical Suggestions About the Housewife’s Best Friend”. This 1916 piece contains a number of wonderful gems:
