That said, I’ll be teaching men’s clothing construction starting in May at Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn and while the classes I offer won’t be exclusively for men, I’m hoping to attract some men to the class. We’re starting with boxers, but we’re working our way up to jeans and shirts. Classes meet one evening per week and run for four weeks.Readers, have I left anything out? I ultimately chose this pattern based on the fact that I had scraps of leftover fabric from previous projects that could come together to make this dress. I used leftover crepe from my Doughnut Skirt (for the gathered skirt), extra fabric from my Striped Dress (for the panels and trim), and then leftover jersey from my Long V Top (for the tank). It was great to make something so cool out of resources I already had, a real time and money saver!

This month a How-To I created for Foam magazine hit the stands. I was asked to create a fun, eco-friendly or upcycled project for the summer so I used the Burdastyle Alison vintage bathing suit pattern and old t-shirts to create (3) multi-colored vintage bathing suits. When I moved to Montréal I gave my aunt back her sewing machine. I didn’t have a sewing machine for 6 months and I missed it! A few days ago my wonderful boyfriend found me an old Brother in a second hand shop for $25.00.
