Once I knew what size I was going to sew it was time to add the seam allowance. I like adding my own seam allowance to patterns since I like sewing with a 1/2" seam allowance. So I added 1/2" to all edges except the center front seam. The center back seam and yoke center back seam don’t need seam allowance either since they are to be cut on fold.
Everything went pretty well! I managed to make it through sewing on my first sleeve, but there is something wonky with the armhole (too small? too high? not long enough?) I have no idea. There is also a strange poof around my hips, which is definitely NOT where you want extra poof. I think that one of the biggest problems/frustrations when you are starting out sewing is being able to identify a problem (ex: armhole and awkward poof) and having no idea how to fix it, it makes you feel totally helpless!

The Duggars seem like nice people but honestly their religion seems really out there I mean being religious is fine but I don't think their kids are getting enough exposure to the rest of the world to be able to make their own decisions on what they believe I can understand them wanting to make sure their kids say religious in some way or another but I think they should be allowed to make some of their own choices about what they believe August 17 2014 at 12:31 AM Add Reply

A little consolation is that she left behind many illustrations for future banners and ads, which we are excited to share with you over the next month…
It seems like the Bomber/Blouson jacket is the piece of the season, so many members have been sewing it up.
