But on the plus side, this past weekend we partnered up with Etsy and the girls from Compai (among others) for the Brooklyn Tee Party. The weather was perfect for such a fun get together. It was a day devoted to refashioning old t shirts into something fresh and new. The girls of Compai taught everyone how to go about cutting up a t shirt to achieve the look you want. Layla represented us brilliantly. Her TV T shirts turned out great; she is wearing one today and it totally rocks! We will be posting all the fun photos of the event on out flickr page so you should check it out!

For me sewing is my stress relief. It’s really nice to have a project at home to work on to take your mind off work or anything else that’s bothering you. I also really enjoy the constant learning that sewing offers, there’s always another more challenging project on the horizon. Last, (but definitely not least), I think the engineer inside me loves the challenges of seeing an amazing detail or technique somewhere, trying to work out how it was done & then trying to reproduce that technique or detail in a garment.
