I now live with my husband in NYC, as well as attend school here. I was born in Harlem, but I grew up between London, NYC, and North Carolina. As early as elementary school I knew I wanted to return to New York, and that really motivated me to do well in school.

They are so feminine and sexy without being in your face. My favorite are those that aren’t tight and just flow from the body and swish when you walk down the street. Depending on the sewing pattern you can make a fun daytime midi dress or vamp it up with your fabric choice for a fancier nighttime event.

As I write this, I am in fact at Quilt Market in Salt Lake City where I’ve seen new colored grommets from Dritz and some lovely new square grommets from other suppliers. I only sew for myself, the thought of sewing for others makes me nervous and I start doubting my sewing abilities. So if anything, my first goal would be to overcome that fear and actually try sewing for others. And I’d probably start with something simple and straightforward to first gain some confidence.

For some reason, the cutting line for this style makes the finished length 42-1/4” which is floor length on me! I wanted my skirt to be about 22”, so I marked down 2” from the hem line for skirt A.
