For the most part I am an evening sewer. I can often be found sewing late into the night. Some of my best projects have been completed at 4 o’clock in the morning.What is your dream sewing project?My future wedding dress. It’ll be a while, but it will be a dream dress to end all dream dresses. I can’t wait to go into some fabric store and not only ogle the several hundred dollar a yard bridal fabrics, but actually buy them! Anyway, its going to be amazing.
What I love about sewing is that you can imagine a wonderful piece of clothing, buy the fabric and make it exactly as you want it. You don’t have to compromise on any details as you would with ready to wear. I also love it when I see an item of clothing in a shop that I really like but that may be too big or too small for me, but I can still buy it because I can alter it to fit using my sewing skills.

The 1960s is definitely my favorite! I believe that the sixties were the turning point in clothing changing things from the “Classic is Forever Classic” look. It became a new modern era. Prior to that, suits were double breasted and pants pleated. Women wore longer skirts .The clothing of the sixties changed giving women for freedom in their looks. At that time we’d gone from the forties look for men and women— a longer, wider but tapered look. In the sixties we slimmed it, shortened it and created a more modern style for a changing modern world we were moving into.
