I really really love the BurdaStyle site! The patterns are amazing and always fit so well and there are such fashionable designs. ? Once you’ve checked out and you have the pattern piece PDF on your computer, print only the page that has the Test Square. Print it on 8.5” x 11” paper, making sure you’re printing at the PDF’s actual size. Measure the Test Square to ensure you’re printing everything to scale. It should measure 4” (10 cm).

Now comes the fun part… the sewing! I started with all the darts in my front and back bodice piece, and continued to sew together my entire front dress. I stitched the front waistband piece to the front bodice and pressed the seam allowance towards the band. I then sewed the front skirt piece to the bottom of the band and pressed upwards.
Once I knew what size I was going to sew it was time to add the seam allowance. I like adding my own seam allowance to patterns since I like sewing with a 1/2" seam allowance. So I added 1/2" to all edges except the center front seam. The center back seam and yoke center back seam don’t need seam allowance either since they are to be cut on fold.
